The short version
Cancel any time. The billing stops, your site stays up until the end of the month you're in, and then it comes down. If you paid for a year, the whole months you haven't used are refunded. Download your files, or ask and we'll send them. Your domain was always yours. No exit fee, no last-minute hurdles.
How to cancel
Cancel on the Account page of your dashboard: press Cancel beside "Cancel your subscription", then confirm. You can also email [email protected] and tell us you'd like to stop; a one-line email is always enough. Either way, we email you to confirm it, with the date your site stays up until.
What happens to the billing
We stop charging you straight away: no further payment, no renewal, no winding-down fee. You keep whatever's left of the month you're in; we don't take any of it back. If you paid for a year, every whole month after that is refunded. The money side is set out in full on the Refunds page.
What happens to your site
Your site stays live until the end of the month you're in, so nothing vanishes the moment you cancel. At month-end we take the hosted copy offline. If you'd rather it come down sooner, just say so and we'll do it.
Your files and your domain
The code we built for your site is yours. Download a copy from the Account page of your dashboard: we email you a link to a zip of every file. Or ask and we'll send you the files. Either way, you can host them wherever you like. Your domain never left your name, so you point it back at your new host whenever you're ready, and your email is never touched in any of this.
If a payment fails
Cancelling is something you choose. A failed payment is different, and your site stays up while you sort it out. If a charge can't be collected, we retry it over the next few days and email you. You fix it yourself: update your card in your dashboard, and nothing else changes.
If the retries don't work, we email you the date you need to fix it by. If it still isn't paid 7 days after it was due, changes to your site pause until it's sorted, and 30 days after that we stop hosting it. We email you once more 7 days before that date. We never take your site offline over a missed charge without telling you first, and your domain and your files are yours either way.
Changing your mind
Cancelled by accident, or want to come back? Email us and we'll switch the hosting and the changes back on. As long as the files are still with us, picking up where you left off is quick.
